Ardeth K. Lindell, 89, formerly of Orion, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2020, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church.
Ardeth was born on May 9, 1930, in Moline. She married Richard E. Lindell on October 4, 1952, in Swedona, IL. He preceded her in death March 24, 2006. She graduated from the Lutheran School of nursing and retired as a registered nurse. She was a loyal caregiver to all she knew. Ardeth was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She was very crafty and enjoyed quilting and knitting. She enjoyed traveling and in her later years she enjoyed playing Skip-Bo with her niece and great niece, Christy. Above all was her love for her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Survivors include her son Richard (Claudia) Lindell; daughter, Susan (Dennis) Lyles; brother Carl Wayne Peterson; grandchildren, Nils (Migdalia) Holgersson; Linnea (Joel) Arabzadegan, Erika (Richard) Averitt, Nicholas Lindell, Carli Sue (Kip) Taufer, Dennis (Ashley) Lyles, Jr.; great grandchildren, Nils and Henrik Holgersson, Kristoffer and Viktoria Arabzadegan, Annika and Emilia Averitt, Rylan, Rhet and Ivy Taufer, and Chase Lyles; nieces, Linda (Dean) Koepke, Barb Bauwens; nephews, Steve (Kathy) Peterson, Robert Samuelson, Paul (Naneth) Samuelson; sister-in-law, Genevieve Samuelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Arthur Swanson; grandmother, Kathryn Hamilton; husband; and brothers, Charles Swanson and Gerald Peterson.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff at Hope Creek Care Center and UnityPoint, Rock Island, for the care and compassion given to Ardeth.
