Clarence "Butch" Erickson

Clarence “Butch” Erickson, 92, of Reynolds, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, at Avonlea Cottage, Milan.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Orion. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Reynolds Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Reynolds Fire Department.

Butch was born on February 11, 1930, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Edd and Mildred (Bingman) Erickson. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Army. Butch married Donna J. Doonan on March 3, 1955, at St. John’s Church in Preemption. He was previously employed as a petroleum salesman for MerRoc FS, retiring in 1992 after over 30 years. Butch was a member of the Reynolds American Legion Post #1166 for over 50 years and a trustee for the Reynolds Fire Department. He was a true handyman and lovingly known as the “fix it guy” who enjoyed helping his family with all types of chores. He loved being outdoors playing golf and drinking coffee with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Jim (Jean) Erickson, North Manchester, Indiana, JoAnn Erickson, Iowa City; grandchildren, Luke (Kathleen) Erickson, Silver Lake, Indiana, Seth (Meredith) Erickson, Lincoln Park, IL, Jake (Carrie) Erickson, Zionsville, Indiana, Mathew (Patricia) McGraw, Indianapolis, Chelsea (Jason) Schlueter, Zionsville, Indiana, Allie (Travis) Fleming, Ft Wayne, Indiana, Maria McGraw, Los Angeles; and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Ralph, Delbert, Clyde and William Erickson.
