Dean Larson

Dean A. Larson, 64, of Orion, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, East.

Public visitation will be from 2-7pm, January 22, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary, 1301 4th St Orion, IL.  Private family services will be held at this time and a recording of the service will be available on Dean's obituary page at www.esterdahl.com at a later date. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery, Orion.  Memorials may be made to his family for a fund to be established.  In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.

Dean was born on December 27, 1956, in Moline, the son of Bernard “Pat” and Doris J. (Frank) Larson.  He married Connie M. Grady on July 14, 2012, in Orion.  In his earlier years he was employed by Hertz Rental at the Moline Airport when he was 16 and later at McLaughlin Body Company, John Deere Foundry, and Ben Shum Excavating.  He worked with his father, Pat, before taking over the “family business” and later was the owner of Pat’s Plumbing and Heating, Orion.  Dean was the Orion plumbing inspector.  He enjoyed antique cars, stock car racing and spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Larson; children, Melissa (Bryan) Rogers, Colona, IL, Michael (Christie) Larson, Pleasant Grove, AL, Brandon (Nicole Althaus) Larson, Peosta, IA; grandchildren, Kayley Rogers, Tyler Larson, Landon Larson, Brody Larson, Clara Larson; siblings, Kenneth E. (Shirley) Larson, Orion, Connie (Richard “Smorg”) Hamerlinck, Orion, Lana Larson, Wheatland, IA; and special four-legged friends, Fritz and Frank.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
