Gwen Langley

Gwendolyn “Gwen” L. Langley, 90, formerly of Moline, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Silver Cross in Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation.

Gwen was born on April 15, 1932, in Moline, the daughter of Everette and Norma (Hartz) Broquist. She married Floyd Langley on December 18, 1948, in Moline. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2012. Gwen attended First Christian Church in East Moline. She enjoyed bowling, dancing and shopping. She also enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas which she never missed, Guiding Light and The Young and the Restless. She enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars, The Lawrence Welk Show and her angels on It’s A Wonderful Life.

Survivors include her sons, Gary Langley; Mark (Debra) Langley; daughter-in-law, Sheryll Langley; grandchildren, Chad (Suzette) Langley, Barbara Langley (Christopher Turner), Christina Somner, Christopher (Stephanie) Langley, Stacie Langley, Jacob (Samara) Langley, Sarah (David) Pessein; great grandchildren, Skyler (Adrianna) Somner, Noah Somner (Lauren Rubio), Makayla Somner, Cullen Langley, Eliott Langley, Zachary Merriman, Jackson Merriman, Conner Nielsen, Nathaniel Pessein, Paige Langley, Quinn Langley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Larry Langley; and sister, Nancy Funk.
