February 24, 1987 — August 5, 2022

Mason Shea, 35, of Rock Island, passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2022.

Mason will be lovingly greeted into Heaven by his son Kyle Shea, mom Lisa Hardesty Simaytis, and grandma Jean Alexander.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a memorial visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Inurnment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, at a later date. Memorials may be made to his family.

Mason did most of his growing up in the creeks of Southern Missouri with his siblings and many friends. Mason attended Central High School in Springfield, Mo. He had a bright smile and a very charming personality; you couldn't be in a bad mood if Mason was in the room.

Mason loved his kids Kyle and Khloie with his whole heart. He would do anything he had to do to take care of them, anytime he talked to or about his kids you could just see the pride radiating from him. Mason was the best big brother his siblings could ask for; they didn't always see eye to eye but always heart to heart. When hard times hit, he became the man of the house doing whatever he could to help earn money and raise his siblings even as a young teenager, and this responsibility carried into his adulthood, always helping where he was needed, whether you were family or friend.

If you were a friend to Mason, you had a friend for life. He would do anything for someone he truly cared for. Mason worked mostly as a roofer and was a resourceful guy doing odd construction jobs in the off season.

Mason is survived by his daughter, Khloie Shea, and her mom Shawna Luppen; siblings, Eryn (Josh Senn) Simaytis, Sean (Amanda Nobiling) Simaytis, Bryanna Simaytis, Tabreania Walker, Jessica Sing, Joshua Lovett; dad, Sean Lee Simaytis; biological father, Mark Lovett; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
