Richard P. Rossi, 77, of Orion, passed away Thursday November 16, 2023, at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.

Per Richard’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Orion, is assisting the family.

Richard was born on July 27, 1946, in Moline, the son of Pat and Ruth (Humphrey) Rossi. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Marines. He married Nancy E. Peterson on November 21, 1970, in Swedona, IL. He had previously been employed as a journeyman lineman at the Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric Company, the former Sherrard Power Company and Mid-American Energy, retiring in 2005. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spending winters in Florida.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; son, Nick (Wendy) Rossi, Morris, IL; grandchildren, Joshua, Leah, Sarah, Hannah Rossi; sister, Diane (Lamont) Peterson, Henderson, NV; sisters-in-law, Donna Rossi, Orion, Cheryl Peterson, Orion, Gloria (Terry) Waldbusser, Coal Valley; brothers-in-law, Ron (Martha) Peterson, Davenport, Wendell (Helen) Peterson, Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David; and brother-in-law, Larry Peterson.
